Civilizations Museum
Combining the treasures of the
distant past
with the technology of the present, this
museum will introduce you to the world of
Chinese beliefs, symbolism and Chinese
scholar tradition. Aimed at highlighting
important socio-political and economic
developments throughout Chinese history, the
museum also houses the best of Chinese
furniture, ceramics, jade and works of art.

Changi Prison
Chapel and Museum
This museum has on record the daily life of
the prisoners via a display of photographs,
paintings and sketches. It also features a
pair of rail spikes from the infamous Burma
railroad, which claimed the lives of
thousands. Situated next to the museum is a
replica of a chapel built by Allied
prisoners-of-war during World War II which
stands as a tribute to the men who lived and
died in captivity during those dark years.
Getting there
Take SBS Bus 2 from Tanah a Merch MRT (E).
Alight at the bus stop just after the main
gate to the prison. Walk through these gates
to the museum.
Republic of
Singapore Air Force Museum
Tracing the development of the Republic of
Singapore Air Force from its early days as
the Malayan Volunteer Air Force in 1939 to
the present, this museum showcases colonial
cap badges, Bloodhound missiles and
artifacts, including planes such as the
Hunter Hawker, the SF 260 Marchetti and the
A4-C skyhawk.

Take SBS bus 2 or 9 from Tanah Merch MRT (E)
or 19 from Tampines bus interchange.
Singapore Art
Museum
One of Singapore's finest colonial
structures, the former St. Joseph's
Institution is home to the Singapore Art
Museum. Exhibits include modern art from
Singapore and traditional art from Southeast
Asia. One of the main attractions of the new
museum is the E-mage Gallery, which features
interactive programmes invading 20th
century Southeast Asian art on large high
definition visual monitors. Look out for
periodic exhibitions.

Singapore History
Museum
The Singapore History Museum explores the
rich heritage of the people of Singapore.
From our ethnic and religious diversity, to
the struggle for nationhood, the museum
traces the trends and developments that have
characterized and shaped life in Singapore
from as early as the 14th
century. Visitors can stroll through an
early 20th century Peranakan
house, fully re-created with its imposing
ancestral hall, to the intricately furnished
bridal Chamber. Visitors can also enjoy a
3-D Experience, the only high definition 3-D
show in the town that presents the history
of Singapore through animation, virtual sets
and historical footages.

Singapore Mint Coin
Gallery
Just east of the Boon Lay MRT station is the
Singapore Mint which churns out the
country's coins. The mint features an
exhibit of domestic coins and medals, and a
selection of foreign coins.
Getting there
Take SBS bus 154 from Boon Lay MRT (W12) to
Jalan ahmad Ibrahim and walk in by Teban
Gardens Crescent.
Singapore Navy
Museum
Military enthusiasts and visitors can trace
the development of naval forces in Singapore
from the Straits Settlements Royal Naval
volunteer Reserve of the 19th
century to today's Republic of Singapore
Navy. Other items of interest include
antique marine equipments, historic
photographs and even details of the
sophisticated, high technology missile
corvette vessels of the current Navy.

Take TIBS bus 856 from Sembawang MRT (N113).
Alight opposite Sembawang Camp on Admiralty
Road West and obtain a gate pass before
entering the camp.
Singapore
Philatelic Museum
This museum is a treat for both stamp and
non-stamp collectors. Collectors will be
enchanted with the fine collection of local
and international stamps, and first-day
covers housed in this quaint building dating
back to 1907. For non-collectors, the museum
portrays multi-ethnic Singapore through
stamps, postcards and visuals. The intricate
process leading to a stamp issue- from
artwork through printing plates and
progressive sheets to the final product -
are vividly illustrated. Visitors may
request for guided tours at the reception or
pre-arranged tours by phone.
