Circle is starting a new program to
introduce Cantonese Operatic Singing with
musical accompaniment.

Quartet
The four guitar virtuosi bring a new
energy to the concert stage with their
varied programmes and dynamic interplay.
Their inventive, critically acclaimed
transcriptions of concert masterworks
provide a fresh look at the music of the
past, while their interpretations of
contemporary and world music continually
breaks new ground.
DBS auditorium
Victoria Theatre
This original comedy to be performed in
Mandarin, is part of the Chinese cultural
Festival 2000. This production is
collaborated with the Television Corporation
of Singapore and includes four of their
performing artistes. The play depicts the
troubles and problems faced by the rundown Yan
Hai Drama Troupe throughout their
rehearsals for the stage version of the
period drama.
Raffles city Atrium
A series of regular lunchtime concerts
highlighting various arts performances for
the working public. Foreign groups
previously invited to perform under this
series include the Wigan Youth Jazz
Orchestra (UK) and ASZA (Canada).
Admission is free.

The Millenia
Singapore Art Collection
The Millenia Singapore, located at Marina
Center, houses one of the finest and largest
corporate art collections in Southeast Asia
including masterpieces by renowned artistes,
displayed for the first time in Singapore.
Masterpieces include murals by acclaimed
artistes such as Frank Stella and James
Rosenquist as well as an arresting
sculpture by Pritzker Architecture Prize
winner, Philip Johnson.
The Roy
Lichtenstein Sculpture Plaza
The Roy Lichtenstein Sculpture Plaza
is the latest gallery in Millennia
Singapore's line-up of public art. The
Sculpture Plaza, designed by Lichtenstein,
comprises an open pavilion with grass beds
and holds his "Six Brushstrokes",
1996 series. The collection of six tall,
colorful sculptures are whimsical
calligraphic renditions of nature
representing a dramatic example of
large-scale out-door art.
