Highlights
Karni Fort at Bambora belonged to the Sisodia Rajputs of Chittorgarh. It was built as an important Sisodia outpost and has witnessed some of the epoch battles fought by the brave Rajput warriors. The most famous victory was in 1711 when Ranzab Khan and his army were defeated conclusively. The historic fort has been sensitively restored to retain its ambience and yet offer modern conveniences. Of great interest is the whole process of conservation and restoration, showcased in a museum, which owners, Thakur and Thakurani Sunder Singh of Sodawas and their aristocratic family, undertook to convert the majestic fort into an immaculate heritage resort. The credit of restoring this years old fortress and converting it into a hotel goes to its present owners, Thakur Sunder Singh and his wife Thakurani Chanda Kanwar of Sodawas.

Karni Fort is located in the Southern part of Rajputana, Bambora that is the crossroads of many interesting destinations in Rajasthan and is near Jaisamand, which is the largest man made lake in the region built a few centuries ago. It is also approachable from Gujrat and Madhya Pradesh. The historical city of Udaipur is just an hour away.
