This uniquely designed 'heritage resort' is a re-creation of a traditional Keralan village and each of the wooden house is an original Kerala tharavadu which has been brought from all over the state and carefully re-assembled by skilled craftsmen.

Location
As the name implies, the Coconut Lagoon is in a superb setting on the Vembanad Lake at the Kumarakom backwater village, which is 14 kms west of Kottayam and is surrounded by the tropical greens of rice paddies and coconut groves. One can reach the resort from Kumarakon Jetty or from the Taneermukkam jetty, near Alleppey located on the other side of Vembanad Lake.

Coconut Lagoon offers two basic types of accommodation - the Heritage Mansions and Heritage Bungalows. The former have two stories. There are 14 Heritage Mansions and 28 Heritage Bungalows. The upstairs bedroom gallery offers magnificent view of Lake Vembanad. The latter are more compact, single level cottages. Both are furnished, in Aiyny and Jack woods, and retain all the charm of original family homes, with thick, solid doors, intricate window carvings, and terra cotta tile floors.
